Malmö’s first and only Afro-Swedish film festival — three days of bold cinema, conversation and community, celebrating Africa and its diaspora.

This year’s highlights
A first glimpse of the new programme: Lagos, Tunis, Khartoum and Ghana through bold contemporary cinema.
Nigeria/UK, 2025. Family drama in Lagos during the crisis year of 1993.
Tunisia/France/Qatar, 2025. Drama about migration, African women in Tunisia, motherhood and solidarity.
Sudan/UK/Germany/Qatar, 2025. Documentary about five people from Khartoum, war, flight, dreams and resistance.
I am because we are
Ubuntu — “I am because we are” — is the spirit behind our festival. Organised by Afrosvenskarnas Forum för Rättvisa, we bring African and Afro-Swedish storytelling to Malmö: features, documentaries and shorts, with director talks, panels and music.
